My first time in Mexico. I've tried a number of restaurants. Many suggest items that tourists may think is free (bottled water, for example) give you a little, then take it away. But we don't know about it until we get the bill; these are deceptive practices meant to increase their margin. (Yeah, I'm looking at you L'Italiano). And/or they try to upsell you, or try to convince you that you are wrong/misunderstood/or don't know the language in order to pad the bill. Generally, these have average food and higher prices than other restaurants. And possibly fake reviews. This restaurant is the real deal. Great service, realistic prices, and yummy food. I'll definitely be back. No credit cards accepted, and they're open for breaky. My price paid does not include drinks, dish was mummy shrimp.

We’ve been 3 for breakfast and it was wonderful! Pik Nik Playa serves with self made croissants, tasty coffee and delicious fresh juices. The avocado toast has been a highlight too with the sourdough bread at its best! Ambient is like sitting in your garden and enjoying the day on a sunny morning surrounded by flowers. Plates, bowls and glasses are beautifully handcrafted. If you ever visit Playa del Carmen I highly recommend!

Visited once on last night of stay in Playa del Carmen. If we had come sooner, we would have come back to try more dishes. We had chile relleno and flautas. The chile relleno was the best we’ve ever had, and we’ve tried it in many restaurants and homes in California. The flautas were delicious. Service was great.

Delicious local food. The staff are super lovely. We had pork tacos and cochinila pibil (highly recommend). The spicy salsa is also very very good! Mezcalitas go very well with the food too!

The service was excellent and accommodating. The food was authentic. The smoothie was delicious. I got to know the owner, Luis he is so friendly and attentive. Very nice young man. He spoke English and he talked a little about the restaurant and their specialty dish. The vibe is really chill, away from the very touristy Quinta Avenida. But still a good place for people watching.

We’ve been in Playa 4 full days and have eaten here 4 times already across all meals — and each time is as awesome as the next. The food has such an authentic taste ... it just hits the spot no matter what you order. We’ve tried multiple different dishes and each is superb. And to along with great food is excellent service. We appreciate the person greetings from owner Luis and his very attentive staff. We still have 2 full days in Playa with plans to eat again here before we leave!

This is a terrific Mexican restaurant in Playa del Carmen. The pastor tacos were savoury and a very generous portion. The pico de gallo was fresh and flavourful and the salsas on the side were too. Delicious horchata to wash it all down and exceptionally nice servers. Interesting ambience and cute sayings on the table. Inexpensive for what you get! I would come again in a heartbeat.
